It’s nearly time for the Racing Post/SIS Betting Shop Manager of the Year Awards lunch.
The winner from the eight Regional finalists will be announced at Lincoln’s Inn in London on Monday 11th November; and Betfred are delighted to report that TWO of our managers have made that final eight.
Betfred TV’s Matt Hulmes met with both Annette Garner (Betfred Spennymoor & regional champion for North & North East) and Mark Orzechowski (Betfred Taunton & regional champion for South West & Channel Islands) to talk about the competition, and what it all means.
Annette has been in the industry for 17 years, and Mark for a massive 39!
Matt asks them both about their initial reaction to winning, how they feel about the recognition, and what it would mean to win the final.
Our shops still have a huge community feel, and discussions embrace how they have adapted to role changes in the industry.
Annette says she couldn’t do it without her whole shop team, while Mark says its all about his customers! Hefty chunks of both I reckon, and the special something that both add in spades in their respective communities.
